From the looks of it, the 2005 Dubai Air Show was another
indication of a general resurgence in commercial aviation, as the
problems being faced by domestic carriers are being overshadowed on
the global front by phenomenal growth overseas. Here is the

Bell Helicopter and European rotorcraft manufacturer
AgustaWestland announced Monday a realignment of their joint
venture Bell Agusta Aerospace Company LLC (BAAC). Effective upon
regulatory and other necessary approvals, Bell is selling its 25
percent interest in the AB139 medium twin helicopter program
(right) to AgustaWestland.
Frasca International announced Monday its Mentor training sim
has been approved by the FAA as an Advanced Aviation Training
Device (AATD). As an AATD, the Mentor can be used for
satisfying tasks, maneuvers and procedures under select sections of
Federal Regulations for parts 61 and 141.
Boeing announced Monday that International Lease Finance Corp.
(ILFC) has placed a firm order for 20 787 Dreamliners with options
for four more -- bringing Boeing's order book on the new
medium-range airliner to 309, including options.
G550 Flies Nonstop From Seoul, South Korea, to Teterboro, N.J.;
From San Francisco to Seoul; and From Beijing to Bedford,
Mass.
A Gulfstream G550 recently set three transcontinental speed
records between cities in Asia and North America on two separate
trips, establishing the 19th, 20th and 2lst G550 city-pair record
since it first entered service two years ago.
