Eagerly Anticipated: Honeywell Publishes 30th Annual BizAv Outlook

Used Jets Purchases, BizJet Usage, Flight Hours Show Increase

Honeywell released its 30th annual Global Business Aviation Outlook, forecasting up to 7,400 new business jet deliveries totalling $238 billion from 2022 to 2031, a 1% increase in deliveries from the same forecast a year ago. 2021’s surveyed business jet operators show a 12% increase in their plans to purchase a used jet, accounting for 800 additional business aircraft. Heath Patrick, president of Americas Aftermarket for Honeywell Aerospace said, “The increased demand for used jets is estimated at more than 6,500 units over the next five years, putting pressure on an already record low inventory and driving additional demand for new jets. Quantity Discount? NetJets Buys 100 Phenom 300s

The Phenom Has Been A Favorite Of The Netjets Fleet, With 102 Of The Type

After record contract utilization by existing fractional owners, NetJets is going ahead with another purchase agreement similar to its 2010 deal with Embraer. Their newest agreement buys up to 100 additional Phenom 300 aircraft, in excess of $1.2 billion. Deliveries are expected to start in the second quarter of 2023 in the U.S. and Europe. The Phenom has been a favorite of the NetJets fleet, with 102 of the type, a sizable proportion of their 760-strong total across all models.

Tamarack Announces Wing King Air Mod

Fuel Savings, Takeoff Performance, Loiter Time Increases

Tamarack Aerospace has announced it’s current demonstration and validation trials with their new King Air Tamarack Performance Smartwing, an active winglet load alleviation technology. In partnership with Dynamic Aviation, the complete modification process is under review by U.S. military and defense organizations looking to enhance capabilities for their fleet of King Air passive winglets. Testing on a 200 series aircraft began earlier this year, with 350 series testing to come.

Gogo’s Avance L3 STC Announced for HondaJet

Inflight Internet Aboard the Honda HA-420

Banyan Air Service announced its STC’s final stages of certification are underway for installation of Gogo’s AVANCE L3 on the Honda HA-420 HondaJet. Once fully approved, it will be the newest addition to the growing list of light jets able to integrate the airborne connectivity solution. Gogo has gained a lot of ground in the segment, with 27 new production business aircraft offering its equipment as line-fit factory options, with 198 models compatible through aftermarket providers.

Russian Parachuting Aircraft Crashes, Killing 16

Another Fatal Incident for the Let L-410

A Let L-410 (file photo featured) crashed over the weekend, killing 16 and wounding 6. The incident adds to the type’s troubled safety record, this being the fifth incident throughout 2021. The aircraft came down near Menzelinsky while carrying 20 parachutists and 2 crew members. It has been owned and operated by an aeroclub that routinely hosted events, including world and Euro championships, according to club manager Ravil Nurmukhametov. Initial statements from local Russian news agency RIA Novosti said local authorities suspect engine malfunction. IS&S Announces ThrustSense Autothrottle Deliveries

CJ Series and King Air Aircraft Deliveries Incoming

Innovative Solutions & Support (IS&S) announced availability of its Thrustsense Autothrottle system for King Airs for immediate delivery, as well as CJ series aircraft with Pro Line 21, Fusion, and Garmin avionics for delivery in 2022. ThrustSense features configuration adapters that allow operators to purchase the system for their current flight deck, or a seamless installation when added during a new installation. The IS&S autothrottle is a full regime system that allows the pilot to automatically control the power setting of the engines and speed targets from takeoff to landing, including go-around.
