NTSB Hearing For Bryant S-76B Crash On Schedule For 2/9

Calabasas, California, Helicopter Crash NTSB Meeting Will Be Open to Public

The National Transportation Safety Board will hold a public board meeting Feb. 9, 2021, 9:30 a.m. (EST), to determine the probable cause of the fatal, Jan. 26, 2020, helicopter crash near Calabasas, California. The Sikorsky S-76B helicopter collided with hilly terrain and was destroyed by impact forces and fire. The pilot and eight passengers were fatally injured. The helicopter operated by Island Express Helicopters Inc., was on an on-demand passenger, visual flight rules flight, from John Wayne-Orange County Airport, Santa Ana, California, to Camarillo Airport, Camarillo, California.

The North Dakota Department of Transportation (NDDOT) and the Northern Plains UAS Test Site (NPUASTS) are partnering with major players in the commercial UAS industry to execute the goals of the FAA BEYOND program. From 2019: Approved By the FAA For Type Inspection Authorization

Epic Aircraft has been approved for Type Inspection Authorization (TIA) by the FAA. TIA allows FAA pilots to conduct the final phases of conformity inspections and flight testing. It is also a crucial precursor to type certification (TC), as it confirms the aircraft design, structural and flight test results demonstrate compliance with FAA regulations. Epic also recently completed the last of over 4000 company-conforming flight tests, concluding another key certification milestone.
