Delta Air Lines Says 4,000 Unvaccinated Employees Got Vaccine

Company Revealed A $200 Monthly Surcharge For Non Vaccinated

The Chief health officer at Delta Air Lines unveils news that last week 4,000 unvaccinated employees decided to receive the vaccine following the company's announcement that there would be a $200 monthly surcharge on its health care plan for those employees who did not receive the vaccine. During a media briefing with the Infectious Diseases Society of America, Henry Ting said almost 20 percent of the 20,000 unvaccinated Delta employees moved towards vaccination after CEO Ed Bastian announced the new surcharge policy on August 25. The new surcharge policy takes place November 1, and the number of vaccinated employees has climbed to 78% from 74% before the announcement.

Cargojet Fires 23 Canadian Pilots

ALPA, ACPA Not Happy

Cargojet has terminated the employment of twenty three pilots, despite the need for more pilots at that airline. Canada’s two largest pilot groups, ALPA and Air Canada Pilots Association, are not happy with the decision. “It is highly questionable for Cargojet to fire these pilots while they continue to hire,” said Tim Perry, ALPA Canada president. “This is a further troubling tactic used by Cargojet, coming mere weeks after the Company engaged in an effort to coerce its pilots to support its plan to weaken Canada’s new pilot fatigue rules.”

AD: Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG

AD 2021-17-11 Requires Initial And Repetitive Borescope Inspections (BSIs) Of The Affected IPC R1 Blades

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Rolls-Royce Deutschland Ltd & Co KG (RRD) Trent XWB-75, Trent XWB-79, Trent XWB-79B, and Trent XWB-84 model turbofan engines. This AD was prompted by reports of cracks in the intermediatepressure compressor (IPC) rotor 1 (R1) blades installed on certain Trent XWB model turbofan engines. This AD requires initial and repetitive borescope inspections (BSIs) of the affected IPC R1 blades and, depending on the results of the inspections, replacement of all 34 IPC R1 blades.
