Airbus Delivers First U.S.-Produced A320 To Spirit Airlines

Had Previously Delivered 36 A321 Aircraft Since Production Began In 2015

Executives from Airbus and Spirit Airlines were on hand Monday in Mobile, AL for the first delivery of an A320 aircraft from the Airbus U.S. manufacturing facility. The aircraft, delivered to Spirit Airlines, is the 37th overall delivery from the U.S. facility since production began in July 2015. The previous 36 aircraft were A321 aircraft, making this delivery another important milestone for Airbus.

Union Expresses Rising Frustration Over Contract Delays

Dozens of Teamsters Local 2727 aircraft mechanics and related classifications protested outside one of UPS' largest air hubs located in Ontario, California Monday and Tuesday, saying they're ready to do whatever it takes to settle a fair contract that protects the health benefits they and their families depend on. The protests wer held as the mechanics head back to the bargaining table with UPS under the supervision of a federal mediator.

Northern-Europe-based BAA Training has renewed its Russian Federal Air Transport Agency (Rostaviatsia) approval for Boeing 737 CL Initial, Recurrent and Renewal training. The approval also grants use of BAA Training’s own Boeing 737 CL Full Flight Simulator for providing training to Russian airline operators.
