It's one giant step for inflight connectivity. This week,
wireless data and voice communications provider AirCell announced
it is teaming with American Airlines to test broadband services
with passengers across the US beginning in 2008.
The US Department of Justice announced this week British Airways
and South Korean-based Korean Air Lines Co. Ltd. have each agreed
to plead guilty and pay separate $300 million criminal fines for
their roles in conspiracies to fix the prices of passenger and
cargo flights.
A proposed airline passenger bill of rights has run into trouble
in the House, as a key provision -- the right for trapped
passengers to deplane an airliner trapped over three hours -- ran
into a brick wall.
Federal Aviation Administration Administrator Marion C. Blakey
could help to ease the current US airline pilot shortage, and
minimize inconvenient airline delays, right now if she wanted to.
That's the word from the Senior Pilots Coalition, a group of pilots
calling on the agency to expedite the elimination of the "Age 60
Rule."
