Virgin America and Weathernews Americas Inc. have signed an
agreement that designates the global, full-service weather company
as the provider of meteorological support services for the
airline's operations.
Rockwell Collins has signed a three-year contract to provide
service and support to Mexicana Airlines. Work will be performed at
Rockwell Collins service centers in Dallas and Atlanta.
Monday was NOT a good morning to be flying through Los Angeles.
Air traffic into and out of Los Angeles was hampered Monday morning
by the failure of the ILS on Runway 25-Right at approximately 0915
local time.
NATCA tells ANN that on Friday, August 4, 2006, Denver
International Airport set a new traffic count record, with 2013
departures and arrivals for the day. This is reportedly the first
time DIA surpassed the 2000 mark -- and with 'only 15 Controllers
and 1 Traffic Management Coordinator working the entire day and
evening shifts.'
NBAA has commended the United States Senate for approving the
nomination of Robert L. Sumwalt III (pictured, right) to an open
seat on the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB). The White
House nominated Sumwalt for the position in June, and, upon
approval of his nomination by the Senate, Sumwalt was named NTSB
vice chairman.
