Lawsuit Filed Following RED Air Miami Incident

Four Passengers Allege Physical, Psychological Trauma

Four passengers are suing discount Dominican carrier RED Air after an incident that saw the nose-landing-gear of one of the carrier’s MD-82 aircraft collapse upon landing at Miami International Airport. The passengers—Tamar Kalach, Sarkis Okhdjian, and cousins Anabella Perez and Camila Destefano—allege the incident caused them fractured bones, orthopedic injuries, spine damage, and psychological injuries. The lawsuit was filed more than a week after RED Air Flight L5-203–a 32-year-old MD-82 formerly operated by American Airlines—veered sharply after touching down on MIA’s Runway 09, departed the touchdown-zone, and proceeded onto a grassy area where it struck

Hundreds of Pilots Conduct Absolutely, Positively Informational Picket Over Stalled Negotiations

FedEx pilots have joined the ongoing sideshow of labor disputes, greed, and profiteering into which the post-COVID aerospace industry has deteriorated. In the wake of picketing at American, Southwest. and Alaska Airlines, and the procurement of rich contracts by Piedmont Airlines pilots and Bombardier aircraft builders, hundreds of FedEx pilots, fellow crew-members, and supporters held an informational picket in front of FedEx Express’s Air Operations Center in Memphis. The pilots are frustrated by the ongoing lack of a new pilot employment contract.

AD 2022-11-13 Requires A Detailed Inspection Of A Certain Body Station Bulkhead

The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain The Boeing Company Model 737-700, -800, and -900ER series airplanes. This AD was prompted by reports of incorrectly installed fuselage skin fasteners. This AD requires a detailed inspection of a certain body station bulkhead, between certain stringers, for any incorrectly installed fastener common to fuselage skin, and applicable on-condition actions. The FAA is issuing this AD to address the unsafe condition on these products. This AD is effective August 3, 2022.
