Two days after machinists at Boeing's commercial plants in
Kansas and Oklahoma voted down a contract offer from Onex, the
Canadian company vowed to complete its purchase of the
facilities.

Today Onex confirmed its intent to complete the purchase of our
commercial operations. The decision to move forward is a
significant milestone in the history of our sites and our
communities. I personally am having mixed emotions -- saddened to
be leaving the comfort of a familiar company, but thoroughly
excited at the prospect of becoming independent.
US Rep. Joe Barton (R-TX) and US Rep. Kay Granger (R-TX) led
several members of the North Texas congressional delegation today
in calling for Southwest Airlines to offer service from DFW
International Airport. The comments were made following discussion
