ALPA Applauds DOT Action on Hong Kong Flights

“In Response To This Egregious Situation, ALPA Requested The DOT Examine This Issue."

Capt. Joe DePete, president of the Air Line Pilots Association, Int’l (ALPA), issued the following statement in response to an order issued by the Department of Transportation (DOT) yesterday that requires Hong Kong–based Cathay Pacific and other Hong Kong carriers to submit flight schedules for all U.S. flights to determine if any are “contrary to applicable law or adversely affect the public interest. ALPA applauds the DOT for their quick action on this very important issue and their efforts to restore a level playing field in the U.S.-Hong Kong market...."

SE Aeronautics' new mid-market airliner concept, the SE200, carrying up to 264 passengers with a range of 10,560 miles and reducing CO2 production as measured by per seat kilometer by 80%. SE Aeronautics, leaders in sustainable air travel technology, announced the launch of their widebody airliner concept. Aircraft manufacturers have been using the same aircraft design for the past 60 years, with few exceptions.

NTSB Prelim: Boeing 777-222

Experienced A Failure Of The Right Engine, A Pratt & Whitney PW4077

On February 20, 2021, about 1309 mountain standard time (MST), United Airlines flight 328, a Boeing 777-222, N772UA, experienced a failure of the right engine, a Pratt & Whitney PW4077, while climbing through an altitude of about 12,500 feet mean sea level (msl) shortly after takeoff from Denver International Airport (DEN), Denver, Colorado. There were no injuries to the 239 passengers and crew onboard, and the airplane sustained minor damage.
