KLM Starts The Summer Schedule With 57 Destinations

Network Significantly Reduced Due To Coronavirus

Due to the corona crisis, KLM will start the summer schedule with a significantly reduced network. From March 29 until and including May 3, KLM plans to fly to 25 intercontinental and 32 European destinations. During this period, KLM will fly according to an adjusted schedule, which amounts to about 10 percent of the normal number of flights.

In what may be a glimmer of good news for the airline industry once the COVID-19 pandemic subsides, the FAA said that commercial air travel passenger levels grew 4.2 percent on U.S. airlines in the last fiscal year (FY), from 780 million in FY 2018 to 813.3 million in FY 2019, according to the FAA's Aerospace Forecast FY 2020-2040 released Thursday. The data was collected before the collapse of passenger demand brought on by the Coronavirus pandemic.
