First Boeing 747-8 Freighter Leaves Factory

The airplane begins preparations for flight test

Boeing reports that progress is being made on it's 747-8 freighter. On Thursday afternoon, the first of the high-capacity cargo aircraft was towed out of the factory in Everett, Wash. The airplane, ultimately destined for Cargolux, will be painted and begin preparations for flight test.

Side-of-Body Installations Complete On First Dreamliner

Boeing has completed installing reinforcements within the side-of-body section on the first 787 Dreamliner. The modification entails installing new fittings at 34 stringer locations within the joint where the wing is attached to the fuselage. Installations were completed Wednesday.
