Ground And Flight Testing Submitted To Certifying Agency

The Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ100) aircraft has successfully completed additional certification trials in expanded operational conditions for high altitude airports. The tests were conducted with SSJ100 flight prototype MSN95004, and took place at the airport of Toluca, Mexico, from September 14-30. The airport elevation is 8,464 feet (2,580 meters).

From the "Better Late Than Never" department ... Boeing and Cargolux Airlines have resolved their differences and completed delivery of the first Boeing 747-8 Freighter. Following delivery at the Boeing Delivery Center at the company's Everett site Wednesday, the airplane departed for Seattle-Tacoma International Airport, where the new freighter will receive its first cargo load, destined for Cargolux headquarters in Luxembourg.

Roll Out New Partnership To Develop Next Generation Engines For Mid-Size Aircraft

Two of the major players in the powerplant industry have announced a restructuring of their participation in IAE International Aero Engines AG (IAE), which produces the V2500 engine for the A320 family of aircraft. Under the terms of the agreement, Rolls-Royce will sell its equity and program shares in IAE to Pratt & Whitney for $1.5 billion.
