US Airways announced Friday the Tempe, AZ-based airline has
firmed up a contract signed in June for the purchase of 92 Airbus
aircraft -- including 18 A350-800s, 4 A350-900s, 10 A330-200s, and
60 A320 Family planes.
STG Aerospace has been awarded global patents for its
recently-launched WEPPS technology, a radical new system for
managing and powering emergency lighting systems. The successful
patent applications follow the UK-based aerospace company's defense
against challenges to patents for SafTGlo, its photoluminescent
emergency floorpath marking technology.
US Airways To Reduce Ops, Cut Workforce In Pittsburgh
Citing a need to accept "economic realities," on Thursday US
Airways CEO Doug Parker said the airline will drastically cut back
its operations in Pittsburgh, PA -- a move that will both reduce
flights, and affect nearly 1,000 jobs.
