FAA SAIB For PW4000 Engines Revised

Follows Reports Of Two Failures Of PW4000-94 Model Engines

The FAA has issued a revised Special Airworthiness Information Bulletin (SAIB) for PW4000 engines following two reports of LPT 4th stage vane liberations, which have resulted in two engine failures with low-energy case uncontainment events on PW4000-94 model engines. In both cases, the pilots of the airplanes that suffered the engine failures made safe landings.

November 2015 Airline On-Time Performance Up From Previous Year

Five Tarmac Delays Of More Than Three Hours Reported

Airlines reporting to the U.S. Department of Transportation posted an on-time arrival rate of 83.7 percent in November 2015, up from the 80.6 percent on-time rate in November 2014, but down from the 87.0 percent mark in October 2015, according to the most recent U.S. Department of Transportation’s Air Travel Consumer Report.

The Museum of Flight is now within a few weeks of finishing a 25-year effort restoring the historic, first Boeing 727 and flying it to the Museum for permanent exhibition. C Series Aircraft Program Starts Ramp-Up To Full Production

SWISS Pilots Kick Off C Series Aircraft Flight Training

C Series aircraft program has begun the ramp-up to full production, according to Bombardier. The final assembly facility is fully equipped and production is progressing according to plan with aircraft in various stages of the build sequence. Additionally, Bombardier also confirmed that the CS100 aircraft that is scheduled to be delivered to first operator SWISS International Air Lines (SWISS) and enter service in Q2 2016 is structurally complete.
