‘Aerofund 3’ Pledges Additional Funds For The European Aeronautical Sector

Airbus Invests €40 Million ($53 Million) In The New SME Support Fund

Airbus, the Caisse des Dépôts et Consignations Entreprises, Safran group, EADS and Eurocopter have set up ‘Aerofund 3’, an investment fund set up to raise €150 million for the French aeronautical sector. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed Friday at Airbus’ Jean-Luc Lagardère site in Toulouse (A380 Final Assembly Line), in the presence of Arnaud Montebourg, French Minister for Productive Recovery and Frédéric Cuvillier, French Secretary of State in charge of Transport.

Airbus Claims Up To Four Per Cent Fuel Burn Savings From The Wingtip Devices

India's largest airline IndiGo has taken delivery of its first A320 aircraft equipped with "Sharklet" fuel saving wing tip devices, becoming the first Indian carrier to do so. "Sharklets" are newly designed wing-tip devices that Airbus says improve the aircraft’s aerodynamics and significantly cut the airline’s fuel burn and emissions by four per cent on longer sectors.

SPEEA, Boeing Agree To Pension Survivor Benefits For Same-Sex Married Members

Alters Contract Language Which Had Denied Such Benefits In the Past

The Boeing Company and SPEEA have tentatively agreed on contract language that grants same-sex couples the same pension survivor benefits that have been available to heterosexual married couples. The agreement comes after SPEEA Benefits Director Matt Kempf recognized, and made an issue of, a "loophole" in contract language that allowed Boeing to deny pension survivor benefits to same-sex couples.
