Boeing's workhorse Delta II launch booster successfully lifted a
replenishment Block IIR Global Positioning System (GPS) satellite
for the US Air Force on Sunday.
Rats... the first-ever rocket flight from New Mexico's Spaceport
America ended sooner than planned Monday, crashing in the desert
far short of its planned 70-mile apogee in suborbital space.
It was a little later than planned... but Japanese scientists
and space enthusiasts were still able to celebrate "Sun Day" early
Saturday, as a rocket carrying the Solar-B satellite lifted off
