Lockheed Martin Corp. -- ever-sensitive to any whisper of
impropriety when it comes to government contracts -- notified the
Pentagon this week it discovered an "inadvertent billing error" on
the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter program... and says it plans to repay
the overages, to the tune of $265 million.
On Friday, NASA's Phoenix Mars Lander accomplished the first and
largest of six course corrections planned during the spacecraft's
flight from Earth to Mars.
China continues to push forward with its ambitious space
program... and assert its goals to the global community. On Friday,
state media reported Chinese space officials plan to map "every
inch" of the lunar surface, before pursuing more ambitious
projects.
Agency's NextGen Manned Space Program Comes Together
NASA has signed a $1.8 billion contract with Alliant
Techsystems, known as ATK, located near Brigham City, UT for the
design, development, testing, and evaluation of the first stage of
the Ares I and Ares V launch vehicles.
