It could be said that competition begets innovation, and that seems to be the case with Boeing. It’s reported that Boeing is considering a 150 seat version of its new 737 MAX airplane in light of competition from Bombardier's CSeries airliners. The airplane, which for now the company is calling the 737 MAX 7X, would have a significantly longer range and carry more passengers than the 126-seat model currently in development. NASA has selected Aerojet Rocketdyne, Inc. of Redmond, Washington, to design and develop an advanced electric propulsion system that will significantly advance the nation's commercial space capabilities, and enable deep space exploration missions, including the robotic portion of NASA’s Asteroid Redirect Mission (ARM) and its Journey to Mars.
