The Apollo 11 command module Columbia—the only portion of the historic spacecraft to complete the first mission to land a man on the moon and safely return him to Earth—will leave the Smithsonian’s National Air and Space Museum for the first time in 46 years for the traveling exhibition “Destination Moon: The Apollo 11 Mission.” The exhibition’s two-year national tour will celebrate the approaching 50th anniversary of the mission and explore the birth and development of the American space program and the space race. A Drone America Savant UAS flew more than 39 miles, and was piloted by a team from Drone America. The UAS flew BLOS for one hour. The vehicle reached an altitude of 1500’ AGL, delivering a package of emergency supplies, to Nevada’s Hawthorne Industrial Airport. Equipment For NASA Spacecraft Servicing Demo Reaches ISS

Will Test Systems That Will Help Enable Spacecraft Servicing And Rendezvous Missions

A two-axis gimbal mechanism for NASA's Raven flight demonstration manufactured by Space Systems Loral (SSL) has been delivered to the International Space Station on the 10th SpaceX Cargo Resupply Mission. Developed by NASA's Satellite Servicing Projects Division, Raven will help the agency test key elements of a real-time spacecraft relative navigation system that will help to enable spacecraft servicing and rendezvous missions.
