Airborne 03.07.16: Hoover Honors, Air Force Bails On 2020, New Boeing?

The Aviation Foundation of America will honor one of the greatest aviators in the history of aviation on April 2nd of this year when they unveil a life-size statue of beloved aviation legend R.A. “Bob” Hoover at a reception at the National Air and Space Museum’s Steven F. Udvar-Hazy Center. The Bob Hoover statue is a life-size bronze statue of Hoover waving his iconic straw hat as he used to do following so many air show performances. The sculpture is the work of sculptor Benjamin Victor. As all segments of aviation in the United States work towards the mandate to have ADS-B Out equipment installed by the year 2020 deadline

SSL Developing Robotic Sample Handling Assembly For NASA

Will Be Integrated Into Jet Propulsion Laboratory's Mars 2020 Project

Space Systems Loral (SSL) will design and build a robotic Sample Handling Assembly (SHA) for NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) through MDA US Systems, a division of MDA, managed by SSL. The arm will be used on a rover vehicle exploring Mars to process and store samples acquired from the planet's surface.
