NASA's contingency plan for an upcoming mission to service the
Hubble Space Telescope may be in jeopardy, due to production issues
with the modified external fuel tanks to be used on remaining
shuttle missions.
Spacefaring Teacher Receives President George H.W. Bush
Award
On March 19 at the George Bush Presidential Library in College
Station, TX, Challenger Center for Space Science Education and
former President George H.W. Bush presented NASA Educator Astronaut
Barbara Morgan with Challenger Center's top honor, The President
George H.W. Bush Award.
Adrian Akerson Majoring In Space Physics... AND Aerospace
Engineering
Adrian Akerson, a senior with a double major in Space Physics
and Aerospace Engineering at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University,
was recently awarded the prestigious Dr. Robert H. Goddard Memorial
Scholarship, given annually in honor of America's rocket
pioneer.
Evidence Of Salt Deposits Spices Up Search Efforts
NASA's Mars Odyssey orbiter recently found evidence of salt
deposits, pointing to places where water once was abundant on the
Red Planet... and where evidence might exist of possible Martian
life from its past.
The crews of space shuttle Endeavour and the International Space
Station got some off-duty time this week, at the beginning of their
10th day in orbit. They also spoke to Japanese Prime Minister Yasuo
Fukuda and participated in interviews with US media.
