Proposal Continues Five Decades of Partnership With NASA &
NOAA
Lockheed Martin submitted its proposal Monday to the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) to design and build the
spacecraft for the Geostationary Operational Environmental
Satellite - Series R (GOES-R), the next generation geostationary
environmental satellites for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric
Administration (NOAA).

Nighttime Launch Only Second Since Return To Flight

announced everything was ready for the nighttime launch of the
shuttle Endeavour... and moments ago, the orbiter rode a blazing
trail through the dark Florida skies to a Thursday rendezvous with
the International Space Station.
Space Exploration Technologies Corp. (SpaceX) recently received
a vote of confidence from the Department of Defense. SpaceX
announced Monday it has signed a contract with the DoD's
Operationally Responsive Space (ORS) Office to carry their first
Jumpstart mission payload onboard the upcoming Falcon 1 launch.
