The Santa Monica controversy shows no signs of abating... especially among Santa Monica Pilots! The Santa Monica Airport Association is not going to just roll over and allow the FAA and the city to close the airport in 2028. Writing on their blog, SMAA’s Bill Worden says that the group plans to do everything in its power to prevent the airport from being closed, and the city taking over FBO operations at the facility. Iridium Adds Eighth Launch With SpaceX

Satellite Will Ride Into Orbit With NASA/GFZ

Iridium Communications has contracted with SpaceX for an eighth Falcon 9 launch. Along for the ride are the twin-satellites of the NASA/GFZ Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On (GRACE-FO) mission, which will be deployed into a separate low-Earth orbit, marking the first rideshare deal for Iridium. An agreement of this kind is economical for all parties, and affords Iridium the ability to launch five additional satellites for its next-generation global satellite network.
