Airborne 02.29.16: New USAF Bomber, Senate FAA Bill, UAV Channel Flight

Air Force Secretary, Deborah Lee James, revealed the first rendering of the Long Range Strike Bomber, designated the B-21, and it’s obvious the acorn doesn’t roll far from the Northrop Grumman design tree. At the announcement, James said the Air Force will be taking suggestions from Airmen to help decide the name of the bomber. The artist rendering, which is not much more than a proposed plan form, is based on the initial design concept. The designation B-21 recognizes this design as the first bomber of the 21st century. The U.S. House of Representatives seems to be starting over on the FAA Reauthorization act

NASA is calling all space enthusiasts to send their artistic endeavors on a journey aboard NASA's Origins, Spectral Interpretation, Resource Identification, Security-Regolith Explorer (OSIRIS-REx) spacecraft. This will be the first U.S. mission to collect a sample of an asteroid and return it to Earth for study.
