Can Achieve, First Flight by 2013
ATK and Astrium are working together in response to NASA's
Commercial Crew Development-2 (CCDev-2) procurement, offering NASA
launch services with the Liberty rocket. This new launch vehicle
combines two of the world's most reliable propulsion systems, with
a collective heritage of nearly 150 successful flights.
AJ26 Successfully Test Fired At Stennis Space Center
NASA conducted a test fire of the liquid-fuel AJ26 engine that
will power the first stage of Orbital Sciences Corp.'s Taurus II
space launch vehicle late last week.
Lockheed Martin Gets The Follow-On Work On The Program
The U.S. Air Force has awarded a $107 million follow-on contract
for the next phase of Space Fence, a program that will increase
space situational awareness and enhance safety for both manned and
unmanned space operations, to Lockheed Martin.
