Airborne 12.16.16: Amazon Prime Air, Saving Santa Monica, Thunderbird Report

Amazon has just announced, and produced an informational video, about their first actual drone delivery of a product. They’re calling the service Amazon Prime Air and they are referring to this first delivery as the initiation of their beta-testing program. They say that Prime Air is a delivery system designed to safely get packages to customers in 30 minutes or less using unmanned aerial vehicles. In their press release, Amazon claims their Prime Air has great potential to enhance the services they already provide to millions of customers by providing rapid parcel delivery that will also increase the overall safety and efficiency of the transportation system
