On July 24th, 1965, at NASA's Kennedy space Center, a crawler
transporter moved and Apollo Mobile Launcher for the first time. In
this first test the crawler transporter moved the Mobile Launcher
exactly 1,749 yards. At that point the test was stopped to allow
evaluation of the move.
Will Evaluate Programs For Possible Contract Awards
NASA has selected 300 small business proposals to enter into
negotiations for possible contract awards through the agency's
Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) and the Small Business
Technology Transfer (STTR) programs. These competitive awards-based
programs encourage U.S. small businesses and research institutions
to engage in federal research, development and
commercialization.
The Cosmodome in Laval, Quebec calls itself Canada's only museum
dedicated to the understanding of space exploration. A
transformation of the attraction will be complete in just days,
making it a center that will stimulate interest in space adventure
and spark enthusiasm for space. On December 15, it will open the
door to a new and unusual concept: a virtual experience of space
and methods of space exploration.
There are some things that are very difficult to describe. The night airshow which has capped off the last two years at AirVenture at Oshkosh is one of those things that almost has to be seen to be fully appreciated.
