Airborne 10.04.19: B-17 Tragedy, Stratolaunch Reborn?, Praetor 500 Cert

It's a tragedy that has stunned the historic aircraft community, if not all of the aviation world. Seven people were fatally injured when a Collings Foundation B-17 went down Wednesday at Bradley International Airport (KDBL) in CT. The plane went down while trying to make an emergency landing shortly after the plane took off just before 10 a.m. It impacted a building which contained several tanks of deicing fluid. The aircraft was largely consumed by fire. Seven others sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical. One of those injured was on the ground. A firefighter also sustained minor injuries.
