As the city of Santa Monica, California continues to strangle its own airport by making it impossible for businesses to operate there, the National Business Aircraft Association has stepped in with an urgent request for the FAA to take action. NBAA President and CEO, Ed Bolen, has cited "an urgent need for further, stricter action" to halt blatant actions by city officials to drive local businesses from The Santa Monica Municipal Airport. ESA, GomSpace To Launch Advanced Nanosatellite

Deployment Planned Before The End Of Next Year

GomSpace and ESA have signed a contract to continue development, launch and operations of the GOMX-4B spacecraft to be launched before the end of 2017. The satellite will demonstrate key capabilities required for future nano-satellite constellations.

International Launch Services (ILS) announces its first commercial shared launch using a Proton Breeze M with the EUTELSAT 5 West B satellite and MEV-1, the first Mission Extension Vehicle (MEV) developed by Orbital ATK. In addition, ILS has received the first commercial contract incorporating the use of the newly announced Proton Medium launch vehicle. Eutelsat Communications has selected Airbus Defense and Space and Orbital ATK to build a new satellite for the key 5° West orbital position serving mainly video markets in Europe and North Africa. Under the terms of the agreement Airbus Defense and Space will build the satellite’s payload while the platform will be manufactured by Orbital ATK.
