Airbus Reports Full European Implementation Of WTO Findings

Airbus Looks To Boeing To Live Up To Previous Rhetoric On WTO Compliance Next Year

Europe has implemented the WTO findings it ways has brought the parties into full conformity with WTO obligations. Airbus said in a statement that the WTW ruling in May of 2011 confirmed that European partnership with Airbus is legal and that government support to Airbus did not cause material injury to Boeing. While pleased with the WTO’s substantial affirmation of the European position in the decision, Airbus respects that the decision did contain limited findings of subsidy effects requiring action within six months of the decision.

Airbus: North America Needs 5,901 New Passenger Aircraft In Next 20 Years

Region To See 66 Percent Growth In Passenger Fleet

The U.S. and Canada will require 5,901 new passenger aircraft of more than 100 seats between today and 2030, according to the recently released Airbus Global Market Forecast (GMF). In that same time period, there will be a need for 414 new freighter aircraft. This total of 6,315 new aircraft deliveries has an estimated value of $648 billion. These region-specific figures were presented Thursday in Washington, D.C. by Airbus Chief Operating Officer – Customers, John Leahy.

Airbus has filed a lawsuit in Austin, TX, against Boeing partner Aviation Partners Inc., claiming its patent on winglets is invalid, and that the European planemaker should not have to pay royalties for the "sharklets" it plans to use on the A320neo aircraft.
