Boeing, Ethiopian Airlines Announce Order For 20 737 MAX 8s

Deal Worth $2.1 Billion At List Prices

Ethiopian Airlines today has placed an order for 20 737 MAX 8s, according to a Boeing news release. The order, previously unidentified on the Boeing Orders & Deliveries website, is worth more than $2.1 billion at list prices and also includes options and purchase rights for a further 15 737 MAX 8s. The order represents the largest single Boeing order by number of airplanes from an African carrier.

Thales And NATS Sign New UK Contract

New System To Provide Earlier Conflict Detection In UK Airspace

Following an international competitive tender, NATS, the UK's main air  navigation service provider, has chosen Thales to supply their new  Safety Nets Server. The technology will be deployed at Swanwick and  Prestwick Air Traffic Control Centers, as well as at NATS’ Corporate  Technical Center and will be integrated into a fully virtualized  environment.

Air France Pilots Extend Strike

Will Continue Labor Action Until September 26th

A majority of Air France pilots have voted to extend their labor action for an additional four days, through September 26th, and union leaders say it could go on even longer based on the strength of the vote.
