Under an STC recently granted by the FAA, Duncan Aviation has completed an industry-first Controller Pilot Data Link Communications/Future Air Navigation System (CPDLC/FANS) 1/A+ installation. The STC covers the Challenger 601. The installation features the upgraded NZ-2000 Honeywell Flight Management System (FMS), which integrates with current Challenger 601 Original Equipment Manager (OEM) flight decks.

Lightweight metals leader Alcoa has announced a long-term supply agreement with Boeing for multi-material aerospace parts. Under this agreement, Alcoa will supply components for the 777X—Boeing’s newest commercial airplane—the 737 MAX—scheduled for first delivery in 2017—and the 787 Dreamliner. The deal draws on capabilities gained through the Firth Rixson acquisition and the Company’s new aluminum-lithium facility in Lafayette, Indiana.
