NBAA-BACE Offering IA Renewal Credits For First Time

Inaugurates ‘Maintenance Track’ In Lineup Of Education Programs

The National Business Aviation Association announced it is rolling out a brand new ‘Maintenance Track’ as part of the education program at this year’s Business Aviation Convention & Exhibition. Business aircraft maintenance specialists who participate in the program will be eligible to receive credit toward the renewal of their inspection authorization, or IA.

NBAA-BACE will be held October 14-16 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Nevada.

There will be five sessions eligible as part of the track designed to bring aviation maintenance professionals up to speed on the latest developments in aviation regulations, safety management systems and human factors, and aerospace technologies that are implemented in business aircraft.

Specific topics include regulatory compliance, human factors and safety management systems, leadership and management as well as professional development will be covered.

To gain the eight hours of recurrent training required for IA currency, maintenance technicians need to attend all five eligible sessions in their entirety.

Stewart D’Leon, Senior Director of Environmental and Technical Operations for NBAA said, “We’re proud to offer these valuable sessions to the maintenance professionals attending NBAA-BACE. Staying current with complex and frequently changing regulations is a challenge, and we’re excited to launch this program to support our community.”

BACE will host more than 75 education sessions over nine separate tracks, where attendees will have the opportunity to hear from industry experts about the latest issues affecting business aviation.

Many of the educational programs at BACE offer credit toward earning a CAM, or Certified Aviation Manager credential or renewal.

In addition to programs and sessions being held during the show, attendees can participate in Professional Development Program (PDP) courses both before and after the show that cover a variety of topics such as leadership, risk management, and more.
