Kodiak 900 Gains Brazilian Airworthiness Certification

ANAC Clears Way For Operations By Capable, Multi-Role Aircraft

Daher Aircraft announced that its Kodiak 900 has received airworthiness certification from the Brazilian ANAC, or Agência Nacional de Aviação Civil, enabling the larger and faster version of the venerable Kodiak 100 to conduct operations in a country that has a compelling need for modern, highly capable multi-role aircraft.

The Kodiak 900 has the same “go anywhere” qualities as the Kodiak 100, but with a 3.9-foot / 1.19-meter longer fuselage that provides a 20% increase in cabin volume for passengers and cargo. Its cruise speed is higher at 210 KTAS, a greater useful load, and a longer range out to 1,129 nm / 2,090 km.

The Kodiak 900’s operating economics are improved through a 9% reduction in fuel burn that reduces the cost-per-seat-mile and direct operating costs for commercial operators.

Nicolas Chabbert, CEO of Daher Aircraft said, “With Brazil’s airworthiness certification, the Kodiak 900 now joins our Kodiak 100 to meet the country’s full scope of transportation needs. These aircraft are perfectly suited for everything from serving the agriculture, farming, construction and public safety sectors to corporate travel, regional airline modernization and utility missions such as humanitarian operations and parachute jumping.”

Chabbert also mentioned that the Kodiak 100 fleet operating in Brazil continues to grow, as does the customer base for the company’s fast and efficient TBM family of aircraft.

Paulo C. Olenscki, Executive Director of Daher Aircraft’s Executive Brazilian operation said, “Both the Kodiak 900 and Kodiak 100 share the same sturdy design and excellent handling characteristics – including their short takeoff and landing capabilities – as well as resistance to stalls and spins. Equipped with a robust fixed landing gear, the Kodiak 900 and Kodiak 100 are designed to operate from off-airport sites ranging from remote backcountry strips to grass and gravel runways.”
