Textron To Open New Service Facility At Essendon Fields

Expanding In Australia For More Capacity

Textron Aviation announced it will be building a larger and modernized service facility at Melbourne Essendon Fields Airport (YMEN) in Melbourne, Australia, to optimize support for its customers of Beechcraft, Cessna, and Hawker aircraft.

The new facility will add more space for aircraft servicing to accelerate scheduling and minimize downtime. Construction is slated to begin in March 2025 and the company expects it to be fully functional by early 2026.

Textron supports its owners and operators of Cessan, Beechcraft, and Hawker aircraft through a global network of nearly 30,000 staff and 50 mobile service units it calls “Go Teams” that provide assistance locally to operators.

Brian Rohloff, Senior Vice President, Global Customer Support said, “Building this new facility to support the more than 1,400 aircraft operating in the APAC region demonstrates our commitment to providing the strongest combination of factory-direct maintenance and service solutions available for our customers. This investment will grow our capacity and help us to better assist customers with scheduled maintenance, modifications and aircraft-on-ground support.”

In addition to the facility currently in Melbourne, Textron also has Asia-Pacific service centers at Gold Coast Airport (YBCG) in Queensland, Jandakot Airport (YPJT) in Perth, and Singapore Seletar Airport (WSSL) in Singapore.
