Air Methods Adds Three Bell 407GXi Aircraft To Fleet

Further Expands Air Medical Transportation Capabilities

Bell Textron hosted a special signing ceremony at the Air Medical Transport Conference with Air Methods to announce a purchase agreement for three Bell 407GXi helicopters to add to their fleet, as well as to celebrate the recent delivery of a Bell 429. Together, the new aircraft further expand the air medical transportation capabilities of Air Methods.

Air Methods had announced earlier this year at VAI Verticon it signed a Master Purchasing Agreement for up to 27 Bell aircraft.

Air Methods has 300 bases serving 47 states and transports over 100,000 patients every year while racking up over 150,000 flight hours. With the addition of the newly acquired Bell 429 and the future delivery of the 407GXi aircraft, the company said it expects response times to decrease to provide better support to the communities they serve.

Lane Evans, Managing Director for North America Sales at Bell said, “Bell is proud to serve as a trusted company and helicopter provider to Air Methods with the continued expansion of their Bell fleet. The technology and performance capabilities of these aircraft are unmatched, and we look forward to continue supporting their life saving mission for years to come.”

Rob Hamilton, CEO of Air Methods said, “Adding these aircraft to our fleet reinforces our commitment to our patients and delivering lifesaving care to them when minutes matter most. They represent the core of our 399-aircraft fleet, and we look forward to continuing to build on that foundation.”
