2025 SUN ’n FUN Innovation Preview Spotlights Are Online!

Dozens of Companies Unveiled Innovative Products Ahead of the 51st SnF Aerospace Expo

Kicking off the 51st SUN ‘n FUN Aerospace Expo, we hosted the second annual SnF Innovation Preview to give more than 20 companies just enough time in the spotlight to debut their new planes, products, engines, accessories, and more…

In other words… it was a LOT of news, and it’s all still up for your viewing pleasure.

On the aircraft side…

BravoFox introduced the Blackshape Prime to U.S. audiences for the first time, highlighting its carbon-fiber build, Rotax 915 powerplant, and IFR-ready Garmin or Dynon avionics. Czech manufacturer DirectFly revealed updates to its Alto NG light sport aircraft, while Tampa-based SilverLight Aviation showcased an expanded lineup including its AR-1 gyroplane, the new Recon light sport, and the AJ Sport through a partnership with AeroJones.

Legendary prop-maker Sensenich detailed its expanding lineup of composite and adjustable props, including STCs for popular models like the Cessna 172 and Piper Super Cub. DeltaHawk announced certification efforts for its Jet-A-burning diesel piston engines on the Cessna 172 and 182, promising lower fuel costs and simpler maintenance.

Avionics announcements were equally busy…

Guardian Avionics showcased its new iPad and iPhone panel mounts with charging and aerobatic-ready locking systems, while Australia’s Microair rolled out its compact T3000 SkySuite radio/transponder system. Avidyne shared that it had secured FAA certification for its Vantage 12 flight display retrofit for Cirrus aircraft, and Fielden Aero announced exclusive North American distribution of Flybox Avionics.

Beyond the hardware…

AviationStart launched a scholarship database aggregating over $20 million in awards, Gleim Aviation debuted its AI-powered Digital Pilot Examiner prep tool, and Flight Club unveiled a web platform to connect pilots with rental aircraft. Even lifestyle products made the cut, from V1’s pilot-designed hats to Skeeter Enterprises’ audible altitude alert system.

SUN ’n FUN previewed its own future…

Florida’s favorite aviation celebration is expanding, and fast. Plans include parallel runways, new ramps for warbirds and demo teams, upgraded exhibit halls, and a revitalized Florida Air Museum.

A NOAA hangar is slated for development within the decade.

We couldn’t stay out of the fun…

ANN Editor-in-Chief Jim Campbell introduced the upcoming Affordable Flying Expo, set for November 6–8 on SUN ‘n FUN’s Lakeland Airport campus. The new fly-in places a heavy focus on accessible aviation with workshops, exhibits, and plenty of aircraft to gawk at or take for test flights.

All that and more at the 2025 SUN ‘n FUN Innovation Preview. Thousands of people watched the event LIVE from around the world, and now, we are pleased to offer the content in a new YouTube Playlist containing each presentation individually or in the full two-hour format, if that’s more your style.

And don’t forget; this was just on Day ZERO of the event. The 51st was undeniably a good one, and we’re already getting off the ground for next year’s Red, White, and Blue at 52.
