Kaman Delivers New K-MAX to External Lift Operator Black Tusk

Kaman Corp., a notable player in the aerospace and defense sectors, recently announced the delivery of a new K-MAX helicopter to Black Tusk Helicopter Inc., based in Squamish, BC, Canada.

This transaction marks a significant reinforcement of the operational capabilities of Black Tusk, a company renowned for its diverse external lift operations including aerial timber harvesting, ski tower installations, firefighting, and hydroelectric projects.

Phil Murphy, Vice President of Business Development at Kaman Air Vehicles, expressed his appreciation for Black Tusk's continued trust in Kaman's offerings, highlighting the K-MAX® helicopter's exceptional performance in challenging environments. The K-MAX is celebrated for its robust, low-maintenance design featuring a counter-rotating rotor system that optimizes external load operations. It boasts an impressive lift capacity of up to 6,000 pounds (2,722 kg), excelling under 'hot and high' conditions, making it a preferred choice for rigorous external lift tasks.

This delivery underscores Black Tusk's commitment to enhancing its service quality and operational longevity, as noted by a spokesperson from Black Tusk. The addition of a second K-MAX to their fleet is strategically aimed at meeting the growing and specific needs of their clientele, ensuring the availability of the most efficient and capable aircraft for various specialized applications.
