Spacecraft Designed To Investigate Jupiter’s Icy Moon Europa
Assembled at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, the spacecraft arrived at the agency’s Kennedy Space Center in Florida on May 23 for launch preparations. NASA’s Europa Clipper, a spacecraft designed to investigate Jupiter’s icy moon Europa and its potential to support life, arrived in Florida on Thursday, May 23. The spacecraft, assembled at NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Southern California, landed aboard a United States Air Force C-17 Globemaster III aircraft at the Launch and Landing Facility at NASA’s Kennedy Space Center.

Cessna Citation CJ1+/2+ aircraft registered in Europe can now be upgraded with Pro Line Fusion avionics systems after receiving certification approval from EASA. Paramount+ has announced the June 18 launch of CHOPPER COPS, a new docuseries that takes viewers into the cockpit of an elite Florida police team of helicopter pilots. They’re just north of Disney World, but to the men and women of the Marion County Sheriff’s Department, the 1,600 square-mile area they patrol is no theme park. Marion County deals with crime scenes amounting to more than 7,000 felonies a year. But with a jurisdiction larger than the state of Rhode Island, ground units find it impossible to have eyes everywhere.

AD 2024-10-04 Requires Inspecting The Rear Wing Spar Attachment Fitting
The FAA is adopting a new airworthiness directive (AD) for certain Piper Aircraft, Inc. (Piper) Model PA-28-181, PA-28R-201, PA-34-220T, and PA-44-180 airplanes. This AD was prompted by a report of a double-drilled bolt hole of the rear wing spar attachment fitting found during an unscheduled inspection of an airplane due to a ground collision with an automobile. This AD requires inspecting the rear wing spar attachment fitting and, if discrepancies are found, inspecting the forward wing spar attachment fitting, accomplishing corrective actions as required, and reporting to the FAA when corrective actions are required.

On May 2, 2024, about 1602 mountain daylight time, a Cessna T206H, N50101, was substantially damaged when it was involved in an accident near Halls Crossing, Utah. The pilot and student pilot sustained minor injuries. The aircraft was operated as a Title 14 Code of Federal Regulations Part 91 personal flight. The pilot reported that before departing on a cross-country flight to Nokai Dome backcountry airstrip, he performed the preflight inspection and that a visual inspection of the brakes indicated no anomalies.

The purpose of the Vintage Sailplane Association (VSA) is to promote the acquisition, restoration and flying of vintage sailplanes by its members, and to assist the National Soaring Museum in the preservation of soaring history and the promotion of vintage sailplane activity. A Vintage Sailplane is any glider of a type first flown prior to 1958, or a more recently built glider with appearance, performance and construction characteristics similar to gliders built before 1958. A Classic Sailplane is any glider of a type first flown prior to 1975, but not categorized as a Vintage Sailplane.
Permanent Echo
Radar signals reflected from fixed objects on the earth's surface; e.g., buildings, towers, terrain. Permanent echoes are distinguished from “ground clutter” by being definable locations rather than large areas. Under certain conditions they may be used to check radar alignment.
