Aircraft Is The 500th Of The Model To Enter Service
The 500th EC145 helicopter was delivered by Eurocopter Thursday. The aircraft, along with the 501st production helicopter, were provided to Transportes Aereos Pegaso, which is the largest Mexican operator in the Gulf of Mexico. Pegaso already operates 13 EC145s and four of the predecessor BK117 versions, with an additional EC145 to be provided to this customer in May.
Deliveries Of Universal Avionics’ UniLink System Underway
The FAA has granted Technical Standard Order (TSO) approval for Universal Avionics’ third generation Airborne Datalink System, UniLink UL-800/801 Communications Management Unit (CMU). Delivery of UL-800/801 units has begun with Universal’s Manufacturing Division operating at full capacity to fulfill orders.
Jetstar Japan has taken delivery of its first aircraft, an Airbus A320. The new low cost carrier will begin service based at Narita in July and connect to Kansai, Fukuoka, Sapporo and Okinawa. The airline plans to expand the fleet from three aircraft initially to 24 within three years.

In the early morning hours of August 10th, 2011, a gunman fired shots at a police helicopter during riots in Birmingham, UK, according to images pulled from closed circuit TV cameras. The incident happened in the Aston area of Birmingham. Six men and two teenagers are on trial, answering to charges in Birmingham Crown Court of riot and reckless arson.
