Airline Accused Union Of Mounting 'Sick-Out' Protest
United Airlines plans to cut 950 pilots' jobs as part of a
downsizing to battle high fuel costs. Since that announcement, in
the period since July 19, the airline says an illegal pilot
sick-out protest has forced it to cancel 329 flights, costing
millions of dollars, damaging its reputation, and disrupting the
travel plans of about 36,000 passengers.
StandardAero has appointed Mike R. Turner as an Avionics Sales
Manager supporting the domestic and international sales teams based

Weight Limitation Leads To Interesting Argument, Part One
Established and announced at EAA AirVenture 2004, the Sport
Pilot rules and regulations have continued as written, with few
modifications. For the purpose of this discussion, we will only
concentrate on a few provisions, although many others factor in and
will be brought into the arguments as appropriate. What we
will explore in this article are the rules, the intent of the
rules, the unintended consequences of the sum of the rules, and
should they be considered for changes.
EAA Recognizes Female Aviators At 'WomenVenture 2008'
It was designed to be "easily be the largest gathering of women
pilots in history." And... it was SO much more. WomenVenture
2008 was developed through a partnership between EAA and Women in
Aviation, International, and was officially announced at the WAI
convention in San Diego, CA...
Following up on their initial presentation to visitors at
Lakeland earlier this year, a delegation of high-level aviation
officials from the Dominican Republic came to AirVenture to
encourage pilots to visit their Caribbean nation.
With the sheer volume of aircraft arriving at the Oshkosh
AirVenture, the opportunity for meeting with one's peers in
ownership abounds. The "V" of the Beech Owners Club, as well as the
Cessna and Mooney mass fly-ins show the power of a marque.
Plane Sports A Base Price Less Than Half Of Many Rivals'
It's one of the most affordable factory-built light-sport
aircraft on the market... and now, X-Air has officially delivered
its first customer airplane. The company delivered what it hopes
will be the first of many customer aircraft last week at AirVenture
"It is important to recognize the accomplishments of
