Irish Helicopter Leasing Company Orders 20 Airbus H175s

GD Helicopter Finance Orders 20 Airbus H175 for Leasing

GD Helicopter Finance (GDHF), the Dublin-based start-up in helicopter leasing and finance, has struck a significant deal with Airbus Helicopters, securing a contract for 20 H175 helicopters.

This agreement includes ten firm orders with an option for ten additional aircraft. These helicopters, known for their versatility and advanced technology, will be offered for lease to clients globally, targeting markets such as energy, search and rescue (SAR), emergency medical services (EMS), and parapublic operations.

Michael York, CEO of GDHF, expressed enthusiasm about the new agreement, which enhances the company's portfolio significantly. "This deal not only expands our fleet with up-to-date technology but also strengthens our capability to meet the diverse needs of our clients promptly," York said. With this latest contract, GDHF now boasts access to 70 Airbus helicopters, including 50 H160 medium helicopters, positioning the company as a key player in the global helicopter leasing industry.

Bruno Even, CEO of Airbus Helicopters, also commented on the partnership, highlighting the adaptability and competitive edge of the H175 and H160 models. "We are excited about our ongoing relationship with GDHF and are confident that our helicopters will serve their clients' varied missions effectively," Even stated.

Introduced in 2015, the Airbus H175 is a super-medium class helicopter, distinguished by its capability to balance long-range operations and significant payload capacity. It is ideally suited for a variety of applications, including disaster relief and offshore missions like crew changes. The model has proven reliable and efficient in service, with the existing fleet of 55 H175s accumulating over 210,000 flight hours, primarily in the energy sector.

GDHF's new acquisition of the H175 helicopters is set to enhance their offering, providing cutting-edge solutions to support critical missions worldwide. This move marks a substantial step forward in GDHF's strategy to expand its presence in the international market, reinforcing its commitment to delivering high-value, versatile aviation solutions to its clientele.
