Airventure Cup Race Seeks Sponsorships

Race Route Will Be From Mitchell, SD To West Bend, WI

The Airventure Cup Race announces sponsorship opportunities for the 2012 race, scheduled to take place on Sunday, July 22. Sponsorships are available to anyone wanting to support the race and provide companies excellent visibility within the aviation community. Last month, race organizers decided to partner with the Sport Air Racing League after learning EAA no longer wished to be associated with the race.  Race organizers are now seeking sponsorships to help support this year's race.

"We are extremely grateful to SARL for coming to the rescue and helping us continue the Airventure Cup Race in 2012 and for years to come," said Kandi Spangler, spokesperson for the Airventure Cup Race. "Our staff and racers are looking forward to making 2012 one of the best races in our 14 year history."

Spangler said sponsors are needed to make the race successful  "which is why we are actively looking for companies and individuals who want to support the race. The Airventure Cup Race is a great opportunity for sponsors to get exposure leading into the biggest show of the year."

The race will start in Mitchell, SD (KMHE) and end in West Bend, WI (KETB) with several checkpoints in between totaling nearly 500 miles. Cross country air racing has a long history in the U.S., starting in the early 1920s, and has been credited with many advances in aviation technology, speed and reliability of engines. The organization's goal is to combine aviation history with innovation, new technologies and individual craftsmanship into one high-octane, fun-filled race that participants and spectators alike will enjoy.
