Aero-News: Quote of the Day

ANN's Quote of the Day usually derives from current news, though we reserve the right to pick quotes out of history that have a bearing on the day's events and issues.

Sometimes, you'll find them timely and in keeping with the content of the day's news... and sometimes, they'll just be thought-provoking.

Reader suggestions and comments are welcome... and if particularly intriguing, timely, or poignant, may themselves become future Quotes of the Day.

Let us hear from you, folks!

Aero-News Quote of the Day

"In short, there will be no binding arbitration. If management feels the time is now for consolidation, they would be wise to encourage both pilot groups to accept expedited arbitration."

Source: Lee Moak, president of the Delta Air Lines chapter of the Air Line Pilots Association, in an email to The Associated Press. On Wednesday, pilots at Northwest Airlines, seemingly keen to keep hope alive for a possible merger with Delta, suggested both sides could go to binding arbitration to hash out issues over combining seniority lists for both airlines... but Delta pilots wasted little time in soundly rejecting that plan.
