killed in the April 22 crash of a Beechcraft Baron 58 near
Hamilton, GA. Friends of the pilot say Champion had talked of
rolling his Baron, similar to a Beech 18 pilot's performance at the
recent Lakeland Fly-In. Another passenger of Champion's after the
Fly-In told the NTSB the pilot had tried to roll his
plane once before... before the passenger stepped in and stopped
him from doing so. A witness to the fatal crash told the Board the
accident plane "sounded as if the pilot was performing some
acrobatic maneuvers," before the witness saw the plane plunge to
