"I think I can roll this airplane."

Source: Jesse Champion, one of five people killed in the April 22 crash of a Beechcraft Baron 58 near Hamilton, GA. Friends of the pilot say Champion had talked of rolling his Baron, similar to a Beech 18 pilot's performance at the recent Lakeland Fly-In. Another passenger of Champion's after the Fly-In told the NTSB the pilot had tried to roll his plane once before... before the passenger stepped in and stopped him from doing so. A witness to the fatal crash told the Board the accident plane "sounded as if the pilot was performing some acrobatic maneuvers," before the witness saw the plane plunge to the ground.
