Administrator Randy Babbitt Holds AirVenture News

FAA Administrator Randy Babbitt visited AirVenture Wednesday for
a media briefing on a variety of subjects ranging from his usual
memes of safety and professionalism to the capabilities of NextGen.
The Administrator also took questions from the media.
For more than six months, Zenair has been delivering the popular
1150 and 1450 lbs kits and factory assembled floats. Zenair is now
offering a pre-drilled fast built kit and welcoming aircraft
dealers and maintenance shops in finishing them for their

AirVenture that they will begin providing full repack servicing of
their whole airframe parachute recovery systems. The aircraft
included will be the Cirrus Design SR20 and SR22, as well as

Republic Airways Holdings announced last week it has signed a

order to the larger Embraer 195 model. The LOI is subject to final
documentation, including final commercial terms.
A brand new EC135 P2i was handed over to Assistant Chief
Constable of West Midlands Police Sharon Rowe, at the
EADS/Eurocopter booth at the Farnborough International Air Show

Tuesday's story on page 3A appeared under a subhead that reads, "Air show in Oshkosh, Wisconsin has history of fatal crashes. The writer, Alan Levin, did acknowledge that the fatals to which he referred did not involve the airshow at Oshkosh, and that most involved obvious pilot mistakes, and many weren't even in the area.

The Hawker Beechcraft Premier belonging to Jack Roush (N6JR) has
gone down at Wittman Regional Airport. Roush was flying the plane.
He is listed in serious but stable condition. His passenger, Brenda
Strickland, suffered non-life-threaning injuries.

B-29 Fifi To Offer Flight Experiences To The Public
The Commemorative Air Force has teamed up with country music
legend Aaron Tippin for a tour starring the CAF's B-29
Superfortress "Fifi" and Tippin. As the B-29 arrives at each
scheduled tour stop, Tippin will be onboard Fifi, and will perform
in concert alongside the B-29.
Homebuilders Hanger Dedicated On AirVenture Grounds
AirVenture now has a dedicated hanger for homebuilt aircraft in
the "old NASA pavilion" located next to the government pavilion.
The hanger was formally dedicated Monday night by EAA President Tom
Monday, July 26th kicked off the "Salute To Veterans" theme at
OshKosh's AirVenture, and Scotts Warbird Alley was where many
people gathered at 1430 to see the dedication of the area at
Wittman Field take place.
On Monday July 26th, 2010, the Aero News staff went for an
aerial tour of the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh grounds in a Bell 47
helicopter. Looking down at AirVenture, the effect of the wet,
soggy conditions rapidly becomes apparent.
"I was parking planes in places I never imagined I could
park planes. If I could have taken the fence down, we'd be parking
cars elsewhere and putting planes there."
