ANN's Boss and Chief Test Pilot is always happy to get a call about flying a new airplane... and when a most recent call informed him that a new version of the SR22 Turbo was on its way to see him, he was VERY interested. Owning an SR22 Turbo for a year and a half, such an announcement was bound to cause curiosity as the experience we have had with his machine has been truly exemplary... which begs one to questions -- if it wasn't broke, why change it?

And Smoother With Future Fuel Flexibility
Kicking off the eighth annual meeting of the Cirrus Owners and
Pilots Association Friday, Cirrus Aircraft introduced the SR22T,
the newest member of the SR22 family of composite piston aircraft.
The SR22 series is the world's best-selling four-place airplane for
eight years in a row.

Fifth Dreamliner In The Test Fleet Is The First With GE
The first Boeing 787 Dreamliner with General Electric (GE)
engines, an airplane referred to as ZA005, completed its first
flight at 1829 PDT Wednesday, following a 3-hour-and-48-minute
flight over the state of Washington.
NASA's Kepler Mission has released 43 days of science data on
more than 156,000 stars. These stars are being monitored for subtle
brightness changes as part of an ongoing search for Earth-like
planets outside of our solar system.
Three-Hour Flight Tested All Operator Workstations
P-8A Poseidon aircraft T2 successfully completed the program's
first mission systems test flight on June 8 in Seattle, Boeing
announced Thursday. T2 will be used to verify integrated mission
systems performance during flights in Seattle and at Naval Air
Station Patuxent River, MD.
Company Says New Test Removes Subjectivity From Rotor Blade
Veracity Technology Solutions says it has successfully completed
a proof of concept demonstration with the U.S. Army for a
non-destructive inspection (NDI) process used for testing
helicopter rotor blades, but they're keeping details of the test
Hawker Beechcraft Corporation (HBC) has appointed Hawker Pacific
Asia in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, to its worldwide network of
authorized service centers to support the growing fleet of
Beechcraft King Air turboprops in the region.
Companies Will Evaluate Production, Use Of Aviation Biofuel In
The creation of an aviation biofuel production facility in
Brazil will be evaluated by EADS, Eurocopter and BioCombustibles
del Chubut under terms of a cooperative agreement signed at this
month’s ILA Berlin Air Show.
United Airlines CEO Glenn Tilton and Continental chief Jeff
Smisek did not exactly receive a warm welcome from the U.S. House
Transportation Aviation subcommittee Wedndesday in the first
hearing concerning a possible merger of the two airlines.
Recent media reports here and elsewhere have indicated that some
aircraft carrying journalists have been denied permission to
overfly the Deepwater Horizon oil spill, which is under an
indefinate TFR. In a news release Thursday, the FAA says it is
accomodating those media flights.
"Less competition generally leads to higher prices,
fewer choices, and a loss of jobs."
