Lt. Governor Jeff Kottkamp, Chair of the Space Florida Board of
Directors, conducted a Special Board of Directors Meeting via
teleconference to nominate and vote on an interim president to
serve at Space Florida. With a quorum present, the Board
unanimously approved Frank DiBello to serve in this capacity while
a permanent president is identified.

Bill Would Let Airlines Decide How Long To Keep Passengers On
Flyer's Right activist Kate Hanni is not a
happy flyer. 'Legislation scheduled to come before the House of
Representatives this week would let commercial airlines themselves
decide how long to force passengers to remain in their aircraft on
the tarmac,' according to Kate Hanni, Executive Director of
The F135 short takeoff/vertical landing (STOVL) variant
propulsion system, which includes the Rolls-Royce LiftSystem, has
exceeded thrust performance expectations in recently completed
tests, providing more vertical power than required by the F-35
Lightning II STOVL aircraft.
TWU 556 Ratifies Tentative Agreement With SWA' Flight
Southwest Airlines tells ANN that its Flight Attendants,
represented by the Transport Workers Union (TWU) Local 556, voted
to ratify the tentative, four-year contract both parties reached in
March 2009. The new contract is active through May 31, 2012.
Ronson Divests Itself of Aviation Division, Sells To
Ronson Corporation has agreed to sell (substantially) all of the
assets of Ronson Aviation, Inc. -- a fixed-base operator at
Trenton-Mercer Airport, providing aircraft fueling and servicing,
avionics sales, aircraft repair and maintenance, hangar and office
leasing and related services. The purchaser is Hawthorne TTN
Says Thank You To Congressman Hastings With "Sentinel Of
Rep. Alcee L. Hastings, D-FL, was presented with NATCA's
"Sentinel of Safety" award, this week, during his appearance before
the organization's annual legislative conference. The "Sentinel of
Safety" Award was created as a way to honor a member of the
aviation and legislative communities who has displayed outstanding
achievement in the advancement of aviation safety.
ANN has few details at this writing, but a search is underway
over the Pacific Ocean for possible survivors of a midair collision
involving two aircraft, both suspected to have impacted at sea,
some five miles South of Long Beach harbor.

The first A320 aircraft assembled outside Europe in the Airbus
