Airport Receives $1.6 Million; Controllers Get The Tight
While folks in Meridian, MS were giddy about getting a $1.6
million grant from FAA Administrator Marion Blakey (right) for
their local airport, the administrator had many things on her mind
during her June 1 visit there.
"As long as people want to fly, there will be noise from
aircraft landing and taking off."

Edinburgh Airport, speaking of his plan to force operators of some
aircraft using the airfield to switch to quieter aircraft engines.
Those fines would even be levied against the RAF -- which operates
several vintage Vickers VC-10s from the airport.
